Happy Halloween!

OK I promise this is my last pumpkin post, but you must see my sweet little cowboy Mason. After a great lasagna dinner, thanks to my mom, we went trick or treating in our neighborhood. We had SO much fun! I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!

Go Rangers!

This is how Derek and Mason watched the Ranger game tonight...Dad focused on the TV while Mason read Toy Story on his Daddys ipad. Love them!

Jack the Pumpkin

Mason and I carved a Jack-O-Lantern this week for Halloween. He seemed to really enjoy it until we put the candle in it and the pumpkins face lit up (this picture is not included =)Mason then decided he was afraid of Jack...he looked a little spooky!

My little Pumpkin

My little Pumpkin
We had our first family trip to the pumpkin patch this year. Mason even picked out his very own mini pumpkin. What a perfect day with great memories and the weather wasn't too shabby either!

I couldn't leave this out...this was Mason last year.
And Mason one year later....

Yes, he found the dog. I think he liked chasing this dog more than anything that day!

What Mason loves most!

Mason started Mother's Day Out this year and he LOVES it. He goes twice a week. There are only 5 kids in his class, 4 boys and 1 girl. This was his first day a school with a mouth full of crackers.

We are dog lovers around here, but Mason has a new love for cats. I have no clue where this obsession came from. Everywhere we go now we are always looking for kitty cats. Daddy says we will not be getting a cat, but we enjoy visiting people with cats. This is Mason at his PawPaws farm with his cat Classy.
One thing I enjoy most about our new house is our wonderful backyard. We have a huge backyard and no neighbors. We spend most of our days outside playing on the patio with the dogs. The weather has been perfect!
Wanting to go outside.....
Go Bears! We took Mason to his first Baylor football game this year and he had so much fun. He had a blast clapping and cheering on the Baylor Bears. This made for two happy parents.

I cant believe this little guy is already 18 months old. We have a happy and healthy little man. We are now at 30lbs and growing fast. Mason is slowly starting to talk, but it can be frustrating at times when a toddler is jabbering away and you have no clue about what they are saying. If he isn't talking then he is singing. He brings us so much joy!

Loving the summer sun....

We are having so much fun this summer. We have been busy playing outside. This is Mason in his pool in the backyard. He loves water, but not big bodies of water =) He doesn't hate it, but he's not sure of it just yet. The crab pool is as good as it gets so far. Wish us luck at the beach next month!

Gig 'em Ace!

Two months ago we noticed Ace was not being very active and laying around a lot. I kept saying I was going to take him to our vet, but I honestly didn't want to know anything could possibly be wrong. One morning I noticed he was having a really hard time breathing. I called the vet and we went in that day. Dr. Koonsen could not find anything wrong so I requested an xray of his chest just in case. After he took an xray and walked back into the room Derek had just walked in. By the look on the doctors face we knew something was wrong. Ace's chest was completely full of fluid and part of his lung had collapsed. When he drew fluid off of his chest it was milky...even worse. He asked if we would consider going to the A&M Vet Hospital because it was something more serious than he could treat. We were in College Station by 2pm the same day. After sitting in a waiting room crying all afternoon, they told us Ace had a chylous effusion. Way too complicated to explain, but basically his lymph ducts are leaking fluid into his chest. They wanted to go in and remove the collapsed part of his lung and remove the "shell" that had built up around his heart. They also inserted a chest tube to drain off the fluid on his chest. We went into this knowing that there was a chance we may not bring Ace home, but we never gave up hope. After many prayers and a week in ICU Derek and I visited him everyday. Yes, we drove to CS to visit our dog. I know it sounds crazy, but we love this little dog and we wanted him to know we were rooting for him. What an amazing team of doctors and students!
Ace is doing so GOOD and we pray that the procedure and medications will continue to work. Lilly and Mason are so happy to have their little buddy back home!
And yes Derek is now an Aggie for life...Gig em

Together again.....

Cheers to 80....

We celebrated a very special birthday in May. Derek's dad celebrated the big 8-0 and we celebrated in style. Derek and I were in charge of hosting his big day and he wanted all his friends to join. I'm always looking for an excuse to celebrate something special and to plan a party, but this was extra special. I have the most amazing, supportive, loving father-in-law ever. We had a wonderful time and look forward to celebrating many more.

Martin family=lots of excitement!

So I am currently a month behind on our blog, but I'M BACK!

The last month has been FULL of excitement...Here is a recap of the exciting things that we have been up to.

Las Vegas/My Birthday
My sweet in laws took me to Vegas for my birthday (March 8). We stayed at our favorite place the Wynn. We shopped a lot, gambled and ate great food. =) I am so blessed to have such thoughtful and loving in laws. We had such an amazing time in Vegas and I came back a WINNER! It was an awesome birthday!

Home Sweet Home
We finally moved into our NEW HOME March 11! It was a little hard to get adjusted to, but we are enjoying every minute of it. I didn't think I would get sad about moving from Daisy Lane, but I was wrong! We made so many wonderful memories in that house. It was our first house as a married couple and it was Mason's first home. I have been busy unpacking and getting situated in the new house. My wonderful mom has helped me get organized. Mason's Auntie Sara came to help too. We love her! I am so excited about our new neighborhood. I am starting to feel like myself again. Over the last 9 months I have stressed over building a house and I feel like I can finally be stress free. Well sort of. Until the next project...
(Still need to take pics)

Happy Easter
It seemed like Masons first Easter, but it was actually was his second Easter. He was only a few days old last year for Easter. We had a wonderful day at church, lunch at Wildflower, and family over at our house.

Mason's 1st Birthday

Mason turned 1 on April 6th. YES HE'S ONE!! I can't believe how time flies. It feels like yesterday we were taking shifts in the middle of the night to feed him. Now he has grown into such a big boy. Mason is starting to walk. We have taken 10 steps in a row by ourselves so far. He is on a mission! On Tuesday we had family over for dinner and on Saturday we had Mason's 1st Birthday Party. We had a Barnyard themed birthday with all of his barnyard friends. I felt like our backyard was a farm. We had a horse, donkey and goats roaming around. We had a blast! We thank God everyday for blessing us with such a beautiful, happy and healthy little boy. He brings us such joy.
